NHPC Inter Regional Cricket Tournament Concludes

Jammu, Oct 14: NHPC Region J&K hosted Inter Regional Cricket Tournament from 10 to 14 October,2018 which concluded today at Jammu University Cricket Grounds. Five cricket teams from various regions across NHPC participated in this tournament as well as in selection trials for formation of NHPC Cricket Team. The prize presentation ceremony was organised in a very simple but impressive function where Sh. Chander Mohan, Executive Director, NHPC Region J&K gave away the winners & Runners-up trophies to Corporate Office and Region J&K Teams respectively.Sh.Sion Tirky, Chief(HR), Sh. B.M. Gupta, Chief (Finance), Sh. Ramesh Kumar, Chief Engineer (Civil), senior officers and employees from NHPC Limited were also present. Speaking on the occasion, Sh. Chander Mohan appreciated all the participating teams for playing in a very disciplined and friendly way and said that everyone who participated in the tournament is a winner and we all need to learn from them how to convert limitations into opportunities. The teams put in their best to play the game of cricket with utmost competitiveness, tons of sportsman spirit and the satisfaction that they carry back home to shrug off their work pressures. He further said that players should send the feedback with valuable suggestions to further improve our standard of the Tournament. Cricket is a team game where individuals inspire each other to achieve performances which surpass what might otherwise be beyond them.The tournament concluded with cutting of a cake by Sh.Chander Mohan, Executive Director which was rejoiced by all the players. The Tournament and selection trials were officiated by coaches of the University of Jammu headed by Sh.Raj Kumar. The NHPC team selected during these trials shall participate in the forthcoming Inter CPSU Cricket tournament under the aegis of Power Sports Control Board.
