| Three Regional Councils only acceptable to all: MPEJ | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 16: Movement for Peace, Equality & Justice (MPEJ) said three Regional Councils- One each for Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh must be formed within the purview of Indian Constitution.
Almost all small & big, news papers are carrying the bold stories of autonomy, some in favour some against it. Particularly at a time when centre has nominated special representative Dineshwar Sharma to talk to all stake holders in the state to find out ways & means for lasting solution & peace in the region. Reacting to these headlines of news papers Ram Singh Chouhan & Kuldeep Kumar Rao the active members of Movement for Peace, Equality & Justice, in a joint statement issued here expressed great surprise & wonder over the chest beating of National Conference, who ruled the State for over 35 years, over the crutches of Congress as also the BJP never thought of giving powers to the people down at grass roots when in power and now out of power, they want safe guards of Art.370 & 35-A of Indian constitution. It was during NC rule when Panchyati Raj Act breathed its lost, the constituting of De- Limitation Commission was thrown beyond 2031- the biggest ever injustice to people of Jammu region & denial of voting rights to the lakhs of refugees of 1947,1961 & 1971 wars fought with Pakistan and murder of several other constitutional Institutions. The BJP on the other hand, is also party to jeopardizing the de-limitation, when they remained mum in the year 2002 in J&K Assembly when NC managed amendment No: 29 in state constitution prolonging the constitution of De-limitation Commission beyond 2031, which they promised to the people in 2014 Assembly Elections. |
