| DEO holds meeting with candidates before counting of votes | | | Early Times Report
KATHUA, Oct 16: The counting of votes for Kathua ULB Elections, will be held on 20 October and the Election Authority has made adequate arrangements for the counting, DEO, Rohit Khajuria said today in a meeting with the candidates.
DEO appreciated the efforts put forth by the candidates for achieving 79.5 % polling in the district on 10 October when the voters turned out in greater numbers at most of the polling booths in and around Kathua town besides across the district.
A total of 368 candidates are in fray for 79 wards in the district for which the counting will be done on 20 October at GDC Kathua, DEO informed and further added that all the arrangements are made before hand for peaceful counting process.
DEO divulged to all the candidates that only one person, either the candidate himself or the agent appointed by the candidate will be authorized to go to the counting hall. There will be six counting centers and each center will have thirteen counting tables.
Besides election agents and candidates, DyDEO, Chand Kishore Sharma was also present during the meeting. |
