Training imparted to counting staff in Rajouri

RAJOURI, Oct 16: For smooth and hassle-free conduct of the counting of polled votes in the district, where elections were held in the first phase of Urban Local Body Elections 2018 on 8th October 2018, the counting of the votes is scheduled to be held on 20th of October 2018 at Govt Boys higher secondary School Rajouri , for all the five municipal committees of district Rajouri.
In this context a training programme was on Tuesday organized in conference Hall of PWD Dakbanglow to impart necessary technical and general training to the counting staff regarding the handling of Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) and other related processes under the supervision of District Election Officer Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz Asad.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Deputy District Election officer Rajouri ROs/AROS and counting staff attended the training programme.
The counting staff was made aware of the methodology to be adopted for counting of votes on EVMs through EVM demonstration by Master Trainers. Necessary instructions regarding the filling of different forms during the counting process were also conveyed, besides instructions regarding the presence of election agents, counting agents and contesting candidates were also given to the counting staff.
During the training programme, the guidelines of the Election Commission of India (ECI) with regard to the procedure to be followed for counting were also explained in detail.
ADC Rajouri impressed upon the counting staff to follow ECI guidelines strictly for smooth, fair and peaceful counting of votes.
The counting will start at 9:00 AM at Govt. Boys Higher Secondary school Rajouri on 20th of oct. 2018.
