Anantnag, Oct 18: Reflecting their Kashmiri ethos, locals on Thursday came to the rescue of CRPF here after their vehicle met an accident in which four CRPF men were injured.
Reports said locals were seen helping CRPF men of 96 battalion after their vehicle met with an accident on Khanabal-Pahalgam road
Local residents, they said, rescued several paramilitary CRPF personnel after their armoured vehicle turned turtle at Iqbalabad area in the outskirts of Anantnag district.
"CRPF vehicle hit the divider at Iqbalabad after the driver lost control over the vehicle. Immediately several bystanders rushed towards the vehicle and pulled out many injured CRPF men," reports said.
The vehicle was on way from Mattan to Anantnag.
Residents not only rescued the CRPF men but also informed nearby CRPF camp about the incident,
The four injured CRPF men were taken to hospital for treatment. All of them are said to be in stable condition now.
DIG CRPF Mohsen Shahedi thanked local residents and said that it wasn't the first such instance.
"Locals have always cooperated with forces in Kashmir and have always extended helping hand. We thank locals and pledge to continue work for them," he told Early Times.
