Vaishno Devi pilgrim dies, three injured in road mishap

Katra, Oct 18: A Vaishno Devi pilgrim lost his life while three others received injuries when a Katra bound they were travelling in collided with a barrier at Police Naka at Moori, Katra.
Police spokesman said that accident took place today in the morning at about 0615 am, when a bus bearing registration number UP13AT-8585 carrying Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrims on way towards Katra from Jammu side while reaching at Moori Naka, collided with barrier of naka at Moori.
Police said that the driver of the bus lost his control over the bus resulting which the bus hit with barrier angle of naka which lead to injuries to four passengers.
Police identified the injured as Khajuru (40) son of Ratan of Rajipur Haryana, Mahesh Kumar (28) son of Parkash of Rampur Uttar Pradesh, Sonu Kumar (28) son of Roshan Pal of Shikarpur, Bulandshahar Uttar Pradesh and Mithan Lal (50) son of Ganeshi Thakur of Chainpur Shikarpur, Bulandshahar Uttar Pdaresh. Police said that all the injured have been shifted to Community Health Centre (CHC) Katra for treatment while injured Khajuru succumbed to his injuries and died at CHC Katra.
Later on, the three injured after preliminary treatment at CHC Katra were referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu for advance treatment. Police said that the accused driver managed to escape from the spot while police have cognizance of the matter.
