| Notorious criminal held with country made revolver | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 18: Gandhi Nagar police claimed to have foiled a murder plot with the arrest of a notorious criminal along with country made revolver and live cartridge.
Police apokesman said that today a team from Gandhi Nagar Police Station raised a naka at Shivaji Chowk Nanak Nagar Jammu for checking/ frisking of vehicles and intercepted a Pulsar M/C without registration number.
The motorcyclist during questioning disclosed his name as Vipan Gupta alias Vipan Bhoot of Shakti Nagar Jammu and on checking/ frisking one country made revolver along with one live cartridge recovered from his possession, said spokesman.
With the arrest of this accused, Gandhi Nagar police foiled a murder plot as the arrested accused is a notorious criminal and a number of cases of murder, attempt to murder, stabbing and keeping/possession of illegal arms etc. has been registered against him in different police stations of district Jammu. Accordingly a case under FIR No. 230/2018 under section 3/25 Arms Act has registered at Gandhi Nagar and investigation started. |
