Div Com reviews status of land acquisition cases of NHAI

Jammu, Oct 20: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma today held a detailed review meeting with Deputy Commissioners of Udhampur and Ramban to review the status of land acquisition cases of NHAI and various ongoing development works being undertaken for National Highway in their respective districts.
During the meeting, various issues regarding status of land acquisition and bottlenecks among others were discussed.
The meeting was attended by RO NHAI Jammu, Hem Raj, Chief Engineer S&O wing PDD, Avinash Dubey, CCF Jammu, Sameer Bharti besides Deputy Commissioners of Ramban and Udhampur attended the meeting through video conference.
DC Ramban informed the chair that the work on demolition of structures is in full swing. He further informed 90% compensation cases have been cleared and remaining will be cleared shortly.
The DC Ramban apprised the Div Com about the disputed cases and informed that there is ownership debates in some cases. He further informed that there is no bottleneck from Ramban to Banihal.
He further apprised the Div Com that work on cutting of trees is in process but due to power infrastructure in the forest areas the work is hampering. He informed that PDD has been asked to observe shutdowns so that the work can be done smoothly.
The Div Com exhorted upon DCs to expedite the pace of progress on these works. He directed the concerned authorities to make a comprehensive plan for tree and branch cutting for smooth execution of NH projects. He directed the concerned officers to ensure timely disbursement of compensation to the beneficiaries.
