BJP wins 34, Congress 19 in District Kathua ULB Poll

Kathua, Oct.20:- Urban Local Body election today successfully concluded after declaration of Poll results process at Government Degree College Kathua under the keen supervision DEO K that counted votes for 5 Municipal committees and 1 Municipal council of Kathua district. The counting process began at 8 AM.
National parties Bharatiya Janta Party won 34 seats and its rival stood at 19 tolls in entire district Kathua whereas 27 Independent candidates secured their position.
In Billawar, BJP won in 6 wards, INC in 5 wards whereas 2 independent candidates registered their win in the Municipal body comprising of 13 wards. In Hiranagar, BJP won in 7 wards, INC in 3 wards whereas 3 independent candidates registered their win in the Municipal body comprising of 13 wards.
In Lakhanpur, BJP won in 3 wards and 4 independent candidates registered their win in the Municipal body comprising of 7 wards. It is pertinent to mention that 1 independent candidate of ward 2 of Lakhanpur was elected unopposed.
In Basholi, BJP won in 5 wards, INC in 4 wards whereas 4 independent candidates registered their win in the Municipal body comprising of 13 wards.
In Nagri, BJP won in 5 wards, INC in 2 wards whereas 6 independent candidates registered their win in the Municipal body comprising of 13 wards.
In Kathua Municipal Council, BJP won in 8 seats, INC in 5 seats whereas 8 independent candidates registered their win in the council comprising of 21 wards. A total of 368 candidates were in fray for 79 wards in the district, results for which were announced today.All the winning candidates expressed gratitude to district administration for conducting election successfully and peacefully
