6 drivers booked for overloading

RAJOURI, Oct 23: Rajouri police today booked five more drivers for overloading of passengers in vehicles thereby endangering their lives.
Police spokesman said that a team of Police Station Darhal headed by SHO Habib Pathan under the supervision of SDPO Thanamandi Iftikar Chowdhary was on patrolling when two vehicles including one Tata Magic bearing registration number JK11-6391 and one Tempo Traveller bearing registration number JK11-9397 were intercepted and found over loaded with passengers.
"On this drivers of both the vehicles have been booked and two cases under FIR Nos. 85/2018 and 86/2018 under sections 279 and 336 of RPC have been registered in Police Station Darhal", said spokesman.
Meanwhile, another police team headed by SHO Thanamandi Nazir Dar under the supervision of SDPO Thanamandi Iftikar Chowdhary was on patrolling on Thanamandi Rajouri road when three vehicles were intercepted and their drivers were booked for overloading of passengers thereby endangering lives of people.
These drivers include Danish Kabir resident, Waseem Ahmed and Mohd Danish all residents of Shahdra Sharif who were driving vehicles bearing registration numbers JK11C-6194 (Eco), JK11A-6978 (Van) and JK11C-3758 (Eco).
After that, a police team from Kandi headed by SHO Manzoor Kohli under the supervision of DySP Ops Sukhdev Singh was on traffic checking at petrol pump when a Tata Magic bearing registration JK11-8826 driven by Mohd Arif resident of Sakri was found over loaded.
On this a case under FIR o.148/2018 under sections 336 of RPC and 66/192 MV Act has been registered at this Police Station Kandi.
The action has been taken by police on the directions of Yougal Manhas-SSP Rajouri who has issued stern directions to all field officers to ensure that drivers indulging in over loading thereby endangering lives of people are taken to task under law.
