| DPS Nagbani organizes Skipping Rope Competition | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 13: To make the students aware about the healthy way to life and to revive the lost game of skipping among the students, Delhi Public School Nagbani Jammu-(West) organized a Skipping Rope Competition.
The aim of the competition was to promote the traditional work out and game which was popular among school children many years ago as a past time, especially for young girls. There were even lyrics that the two girls on the ends swinging the rope would chant while the one in the middle jumped to the varying speed of the rope. The boys would sometimes join in the fun.
After a strenuous training the students from classes V to IX were ready with their ropes to jump and show their talent. Some of the students did very well while some tried to challenge the limit set by the others. All the others who were present there also wanted to jump to the rythemic strokes of the rope.
All the winners were applauded by the Principal of the school R. K. Verma who praised their efforts and said that such type of competitions should be organized at different intervals so that the students may get the chance to learn new things and display their talent. |
