SAMBA, Nov 15: Acting sternly against the drug menace and its propagators on the directions of Dr Koshal Sharma-SSP Samba, District Police Samba claimed to have arrested one drug peddler under the jurisdiction of Samba police station and recovered 3 kg of Poppy Straw from his possession.
Police spokesman said that acting on a tip off, a police party of Samba police station headed by Inspector Chanchal Singh-SHO Samba under the close supervision of Deepak Digra-Dy.SP Hqrs Samba during vehicle checking at Naka Mansar Morh, Samba intercepted one truck bearing Registration number JK21B- 8747 on suspicious ground which was coming from Kashmir side via Mansar.
"During checking of the vehicle, 3 kg of Poppy Straw was recovered which was concealed under the driver seat", said spokesman adding that the accused person has been identified as Kulbeer Singh of Chak Babral, Samba.
The said drug peddler was arrested on spot and the contraband item was also seized. In this regard, a case under FIR No. 297/2018 under section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Samba police station and further investigation was started. |
