NMC expresses concern over delay in accept recommendations of ALC

Jammu, Nov 15: Expressing deep concern over the undue delay in accepting the recommendations of Ashok Lavsa committee report by the Central Govt. till today, President of the National Mazdoor Conference(NMC) Subash Shastri today hoped that Prime Minister and Union Finance Minister will definitely take final decision in this regard before upcoming session of parliament starting from December 11, so that confusion and uncertainty among lower class cadre both working in central and state Governments could be come to an end. "Ashok Lavasa committee in its report had proposed a minimum scale of lower class employees of Rs.18000/- instead of Rs. of Rs.18000/- presently as the initial scale of pay for lower class cadre in Govt. services." Shastri said this while addressing a well attended NMC workers meet here. This report has already been submitted to the Union Finance Minister by the Ashok Lavasa committee constitute in the wake of implementation of 7th pay commission by the central govt. of removal of pay anomalies in pay structure of lower class cadre of both state and central govt. had not been given any effect, he said. The issue may be a major issue in the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections added that govt. employees and pensioners constitute a sizable voter constituency and this constituency can be a determining factor in the electoral considerations. Ignoring such a vibrant and decisive constituency will surely dent the prospect of political parties, he said.
