Jammu, Nov 15: Anti-Corruption Bureau today registered a formal case against Pranav Gandotra (Sr. Assistant) of Channi Himmat, posted as Incharge TSO Satwari and Incharge K.Oil Inspector Jammu Rural-I, FCS&CA Jammu (now under suspension), vide FIR No. 35/2018 u/s 5(1)(e) read with section 5(2) J&K P.C Act Svt. 2006 at P/S VOJ on 15/11/2018.
It is pertinent to mention here that another FIR No. 21/2018 dated. 18/07/2018 got registered against Pranav Gandotra for misappropriation of funds while his posting as I/C TSO in Rajouri District and thereafter simultaneous searches were conducted at various office premises/residential places, during the searches and further investigations, it is found that accused Pranav Gandotra has raised huge properties both movable as well as immovable worth crores of rupees in his own name and in name of his family members which are disproportionate to his known sources of income.
He also possesses luxurious house hold items, costly electronics gadgets etc. Some of the assets raised by the accused included House No. 60/3 Channi Himmat worth in lacs; Flat No. 1203 Block-A and Flat No. 1204 Block-A worth Rs 83 lakh; Shop at Asrarabad Sidhra Jammu acquired in year 2017 on rent basis @ Rs 5000 per month; GT Road Restaurant in Palm Island Mall at Canal road Jammu; Number of costly/ luxurious vehicles which included i10 JK02BB-6968, Innova Crysta JK02BT-8691, Toyota Fortuner JK02BS-8809, Toyota Fortuner JMUBQ-6700 (Temp), e) Chevrolet Cruse JK02AW0001, Mahindra XUV 500 JK02BQ8954, Mercedes Benz PB65AG(T)3465, Hyundai Verna JK02AJ0002, Gold/diamond ornaments weighing 4 Kg 361.49 grams and Silver articles with utensils weighing 11 Kg 389 gms; Insurance policies worth more than 41 lakh etc.
It is found that through corrupt and illegal practices and having taken advantages of his lucrative postings, the officer has acquired huge assets, both moveable/immoveable by investing proceedings of his ill gotten money in such properties either in his own name or in the name of his family members by abuse and misuse of his official position as a public servant.
Spokesman said that after registration of the case, investigation has been taken up.
