Wrestling Federation of India discriminates with Jammu Wrestlers: JJSF

Jammu, Nov 30: Jammu Joint Students Federation (JJSF) allaged that Wrestlers of Jammu faced discrimination over the hands of Wrestling Federation of India, Indian Olympic Association and Jammu and Kashmir sports Council.
Addressing media persons, Vice President JJSF said that the future of the wrestlers of the state is being spoiled by J&K Sports council and former state body of J&K wrestling association which was headed by Dushyant Sharma (SP Rural Jammu).
Atul added that Dushyant Sharma was elected as President of J&K wrestling association of 16th May 2013 where by violating the sports code 2013 and SRO-164 of 1980.
As per the SRO-164, "No government employee except with the previous provision of the government shall hold or continue to hold any office in any such sports association of the state or the national sports federation or associations".
Also a circular was issued by the Police department stating that various police official and officers are presently holding elected/profitable office bears post in different sports association of J&K both recognized and non recognized with J&K State Sports council without any prior permission. Thus, violating the conduct rules affecting day to day affairs in to the interest of Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Atul added that Dushyant Sharma is playing with the carrier with the youths by miss leading them and taking them out of the state for competition. He being very well aware that the certificate obtained so shall not be entertained by the Jammu and Kashmir government until and unless screening is done by the J&K State Sports council.
JJSF alleges that Dushyant Sharma and Ajay Vaid (President and General Secretary) were elected in blatant violation of sports code and their term expired on 15-05-2017 and as such they are not eligible to contest for reelection.
He said that Dushyant Sharma due to his influence he is not letting the newly elected body to take over the office despite the election taken part last year. JJSF has requested Director General of J&K Police, Dilbag Singh to interface and take action against these erring officials so that the future of thousands of sportsman could be saved. here today over the discrimination faced by Wrestlers of Jammu over the hands of Wrestling Federation of India, Indian Olympic Association and Jammu and Kashmir sports Council.
