Misappropriation of kerosene oil, ACB books two former TSOs

Jammu, Jan 7: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) Jammu booked two former Tehsil Supply Officers (TSOs) over alleged huge pilferage of Kerosene oil in Traith area of Kalakote District Rajouri. ACB registered a formal case against Mohammad Ashraf, Pranav Gandotra then Tehsil Supply Officers (TSOs) Kalakote and others vide FIR No. 05/2019 under section 5(1)(c), 5(1) (d) r/w section 5(2) of J&K PC Act Svt. 2006 at P/S ACB, Jammu on 07.01.2019.
Spokesman of Anti Corruption Bureau said that the instant case was registered on the basis of Joint Surprise Check conducted by Anti Corruption Bureau regarding allegation of huge pilferage of Kerosene oil that had taken place in Traith area of Kalakote District Rajouri. "Verific-ation conducted by the Anti Corruption Bureau revealed that 263680 Litres of Kerosene oil had been shown allotted to the dealers of Triath and adjoining areas.
However, the dealers had received only 1,77,000 litres of Kerosene oil for its distribution to the ration card holders of the area whereas 86680 litres of kerosene oil allotted to dealers of Triath and adjoining areas was misappropriated by above mentioned accused persons", said spokesman adding that both the TSOs by misusing and abusing their official position for pecuniary gains, thereby depriving the genuine beneficiaries of their quota of kerosene oil and also caused loss amounting to Rs. 23,95,401to the state exchequer. On the prima-facie establishment of allegations, the instant case under relevant section of law has been registered at police station ACB Jammu and investigation taken up.
