Omar indulges in exaggeration
1/11/2019 9:21:54 PM
Whenever out of power the National Conference leadership, one needs not to remind, seems to issue statements that mislead people. And when it tastes power it is an obedient boy of the Government of India. That is the reason for the former Chief Minister and NC vicepresident, Omar Abdullah to hold the Government of India for creating circumstances that allows rebirth of militancy. And when militancy took birth in Kashmir and then in Jammu National was head of the Government and Dr Farooq Abdullah was the chief Minister. Soon as the violence raised its head Dr Farooq resigned on the plea that he was not asked whether Jagmohan would be sent to J&K as Governor.
Again when out of power Omar Abdullah says that Jammu and Kashmir is a political problem, which requires political handling and a political solution that will be arrived at through dialogue. When India refuse to talk to the State, when New Delhi refuse to acknowledge the political nature of the problem, when you refuse to understand what the root cause of J&K problem is, you yourself are creating circumstances that have allowed rebirth of militancy. And leaders like Omar Abdullah should know it better than anybody else that Pakistan sponsored terrorism in Kashmir and it is not the issue of creating circumstances that leads to the hanging of Kashmir issue. Even the Governor, S.P. Mailk, has suggested to the security forces to kill terrorism without killing terrorists. "Operation All out."
Referring to Government of India's 'Operation All Out', he said, "You are killing militants but you created the situation for creation of militants. What a joke? And Omar saying that during his rule there were no militants and as such they did not have to act against them. The issue can't be resolved by killing militants and even the Army says so," he said. "By killing militants, you can't resolve Kashmir and the more militants you kill, more militants will be born as you (GoI) have created circumstances that are pushing youth toward militancy." The NC Vice President said the only way of resolving Kashmir issue was by dealing with the situation politically. Stressing that he was not justifying the use of violence on any side, Omar said youth were feeling alienated and there was anger among the youth. Well reports do suggest that the youth in Kashmir were radicalized and when this happens there is a cycle of violence and for this kill terrorists and without that terrorism cannot end.
