| Locals stage protest, level allegations of functioning of brothel in Nai Basti | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 11: Residents of Nai Basti today evening staged protest demonstration and blocked road against the alleged functioning of a brothel in the area. Protestors shouted slogans and leveled allegations that a brothel is being run in Nai Basti area inside the house having a restaurant on its ground floor.
The protesters said that they several times lodged complaints against the racket with the police but every time, the kingpin, was set free by the police.
Corporator of the area Pawan Singh, who led the protest, stated that there are reports that a sex racket was allegedly running in the area for the past much time but despite complaining the matter to police, no action taken against the accused.
Singh also claimed that he possessed a diary having names and contact numbers of the some of the teenager girls, who were allegedly part of the racket.
A police official said that preliminary investigations have been started and if anybody found guilty or indulged into the sex trade will have to face action under law. |
