| JKFFA celebrates Lohri with mentally challenged children | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 13: Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Fighters Association (JKFFA), today organised a function on the eve of Lohri Festival which was celebrated at SOS Home for Mentally Retarded children in Channi Rama as per post practice of the Association.
While addressing the gathering, the speakers appreciated the role being played by the Association for inculcating the spirit of the patriotism among the people and organizing the function in at the children's Home.
Association Chairman Ved Gandotra speaking on the occasion said that these traditional festivals help us to recognise the invaluable contribution of farmers to the society. Rajiv Mahajan vice chairman of association said that "Our endeavour always is to spread happiness and sunshine among these children who have suffered on various accounts, be it violence, poverty or some other reason."
He assured the children that they shall be coming to celebrate festival every year with them so that they should not feel away from their near and dear ones and from the mainstream of the society. Prominent were present on the occasion R.C Puri President, Th. Karnail Chand General Secretary, K.K Verma, Pritam Sharma, Sr. Rajinder Singh, Sr. Gajan Singh Khalsa, Vice Presidents, Sr. Sukhminder Singh Maini Finance Secretary and others. |
