Hypocrisy of PDP: Hamid Choudhary elevated for 'supporting' rape accused
1/13/2019 10:55:52 PM

Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 13: Appointment of Choudhary Abdul Hamid as vice president and over all in-charge of PDP in Jammu has not only created anger among senior leaders of the party, his elevation has also exposed hypocrisy of PDP because Hamid had supported a rape accused Talib Hussain.
For demanding CBI inquiry into infamous Rassana case, PDP leadership had tagged two former BJP ministers as pro-rapists but party has prized Hamid Choudhary with post of vice president despite the fact he had visited Samba jail on August 12, 2018 in support of Talib Hussain , who has been lodged in the prison for allegedly raping a 30-year-old married woman, who was also his relative.
Hamid, who is virtually handling party affairs in Jammu region these days due to patronage of top leadership, had gone to Samba Police Station to inquire about health of rape accused and directed the police to provide all possible facilities to Talib Hussian, against whom as many as 5 FIRs have been registered including one of rape.
Credible sources said that from the day one when Talib Hussain was arrested after one of his relative has labeled charge of rape on the so-called tribal activists.
Hamid had stated at that time that he had gone to the police station to enquire about the health and well-being of Talib following rumours of assault on him in police custody. "I was not there to pressure anyone. There was nothing wrong in it because I went there on the insistence of community members. I also met the complainant and her family there," he said.
