JAMMU, Jan 20: The ongoing agitation of All J&K NHM Employees' Association, Jammu province today entered 7th day. Hundreds of NHM employees drawn from various parts of Jammu and other districts of the province assembled at Exhibition Ground. Demanding regularization of their services and fulfillment of their other already agreed demands, they staged a peaceful protest. All JK NHM Employees Association, (Joint Coordination of NHM RNTCP, JKSACS, DEO's Female employee including NHM employees from Kashmir division and from Ladakh also joined us at press club with their children's at protest site and it was decided by the union that employees from Kashmir division who are not in a position to join protest in Jammu will sit at their District Headquarters and Block head quarters for peaceful protest. In the mean time NHM employees have decided to extend peaceful protest up to 72hrs from 21 January to 23 January in support of their genuine demands.
The main demands of NHM employees are immediate regularization of jobs, maximum increment to all NHM employees, particularly for Paramedics and Management staff and implementation of the policy of 'equal pay for equal work'. The employees also demanded implementation of 7th Pay Commission for NHM employees as has already been done in case of other Centrally sponsored schemes like SSA. |
