JU students defer ongoing protest against SAC decision

Jammu, Jan 20: Agitating scholars and students of University of Jammu held a press conference in which they have unanimously taken a decision to defer the ongoing protest against SAC decision on in view of security concerns raised by university and civil administration because this time Republic Day function of state is going to be held in university of Jammu for the first time in history. National function is a prestigious function for state as well as university, being the stakeholders of university the executive committee has taken a decision to defer the protest. As they committee is of view that this R Day is more important than any other event. But this protest will continue after 28th of January and will continue until this SAC decision got revoked. In the meantime we request all the suffers to continue there demonstration in respective institution as it is not feasible for us to continue in this campus. Jammu University Scholars and students were protesting against the state administrative council decision vide order no. 116/22/2018 dated 07/12/2018 in which it is mentioned clearly the adjustment of RReTs and creation of 2863 supernumerary posts of teachers in the cadre of teacher grade II to regularize them and Abolishment as well as conversion of 3864 vacant posts of 10+2 lecturers into promotion of already existing PG teachers of Master grade. With this all the referred posts of 10+2 lecturer and teachers have been withdrawn by the School education department, Civil secretariat (J&K) vide order no. Edu-J/322/2009-II dated 28/12/2018. Some vacancies of 10+2 lecturers which were already advertised by the Jammu and Kashmir Public service commission (JKPSC) referred with order no. Edu/V/4/2008 dated 16/03/2016 vide notification no. 09-PSC (DR-P) of 2018 dated 21-08-2018 has also been withdrawn due to this atrocious order.
