Panun Kashmir reiterates demand for separate homeland
2/7/2019 10:20:03 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 7: Panun Kashmir led by its President Vijay Bhat had a meeting in Jammu to take stock of situation, post Prime Minister Modi`s visit to Jammu. Vijay Bhat said that the pain and agony of Kashmiri Pandits expressed and shared by Prime minister is a matter of satisfaction and is appreciable. Prime Minister had said that the Central government will dedicatedly work for the rights, honour and dignity of Kashmiri Pandits. The era of violence and terrorism during which they had to flee their homes is a dark chapter in India's history, said PM.
Convenor Ravinder Jalali while, appreciating the concern and commitment shown by the Prime Minister for the return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits to valley with rights, honour and dignity, appealed to Prime Minister to translate the feelings and expressions of pain and agony of Kashmiri Pandits into action by setting up of commission of enquiry to look into the reasons of mass exodus of Kashmiri Pandits and fix the responsibility for the perpetrators of heinous crime of ethnic cleaning and bring them to justice. If 1984 riots can be opened now, why 1990 ethnic cleansing and genocide of Kashmiri Pandits can not be opened? Said Ravinder Jalali.
Panun Kashmir made it clear that the transit accommodation in valley for KPs, as suggested by PM, is neither a solution nor it will reverse the genocide of Kashmiri Pandits. We want to make it clear to Prime minister that Kashmiri Pandits were driven out of their homes and hearths in valley on the basis of faith/religion to establish the Islamic Rule (Nizami-Mustafa).
It was further clarified that transit accommodation is not going to solve the problem and the only solution for the return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits in valley with honour and dignity is the implementation of Margdarshan resolution of 1991 passed unanimously by entire Kashmiri Pandit community in exile in Jammu in December 1991 that envisages a separate Homeland with Union Territory status to reverse their religious cleansing and genocide.
