2 held with 10 gram heroin like substance

Jammu, Mar 21: In continuation to the drive against drugs launched by Jammu police, today Gangyal police claimed to have arrested two persons and recovered 10 gram heroin like substance from their possession.
Police spokesman said that today a routine naka was established at Kunjwani Chowk NHW, When a motorcyclist along with pillion rider sitting on a motor-cycle bearing registration number JKO2CE-4861 which was coming from Bari Brahmana towards Gangyal was signalled to stop but the rider of the motorcycle had tried to break the naka in order to flee from the spot but were stopped after chased by the alert cops.
Police spokesman said that on questioning they disclosed their name as Faisal Shapoo of Bhaderwah presently staying at Bathindi Jammu on his personnel search heroine like substance weighing 05 gram was recovered from his possession and Malkit Singh (Pillion rider) of Bathindi Jammu on his personnel search heroine like substance weighing 05 gram was recovered from his possession.
"On further questioning they disclose that they had brought the consignment from Srinagar and selling drugs among the youth and ruining the society in and around Jammu City," said spokesman adding that in this regard a case under FIR No 23/19 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Gangyal police station.
More recoveries are expected as there is every possibility of involvement of more persons. The arrest and recovery was made by SI Nayat Ali-SHO Gangyal under the close supervision of SDPO City South Jammu-Dr.Sunniya Ashkoor Wani, SP South-Vinay Sharma and overall supervision of SSP Jammu-Tajinder singh.
