Handa organizes awareness about hearing screening

Jammu, Mar 23: Dr KK Handa Chairman Medanta Division of ENT & Head Neck Surgery and one of the foremost ENT surgeons of the country today reached out to India's northern most state of Jammu and Kashmir to discuss the importance of screening newborns for early detection of hearing loss and to detect children who have hearing impairment as early as possible. Dr KK Handa, has been heading the Department of ENT & Head Neck Surgery Medanta Medicity Gurgaon since 2009. Before that he was Faculty member , A.I.I.M.S New Delhi from 1996 -2009 He did his MS ( ENT) and senior residency from PGIMER Chandigarh . He is Ex President and founder secretary Association of Phonosurgeons of India and has more than 100 international and national publications. He is Author of textbook of laryngology & Voice He was the Organising Chairman World Phonocon held in Feb 2017 in Gurugram. His expertise areas are Voice, laryngology, lasers, Cochlear Implants , Head neck Surgery and sleep surgery. He was in the Jammu "City of Tamples" to raise awareness about hearing screening. "Today hearing loss is a grave public health concern. Around 34 million children across the globe suffer some form of hearing loss and India has a big population of this.
