J&K State Wrestling Championship-2019 concludes 3/24/2019 11:54:18 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 24: Closing Ceremony of 24th Men and 10th Women J&K State Wrestling Championship-2019 was held today. The Championship was organized by J&K State Wrestling Association on 23rd and 24th March-2019 in the rural part of Jammu District in order create more sports activities among the wrestlers of rural areas of J&K State so they get benefited by latest technologies of Wrestling Mat/Game and can compete better at State/National level particularly in Wrestling Game and bring laurels to the J&K State. Most of the wrestlers (Men/Women) of different districts of J&K State including J&K Police Wrestling Team have participated in this two days wrestling championship. During the Championship, all the wrestlers have competed in the various weight categories including free style and Greeco Roman style and a very tough competition was witnessed among the participants during the championship. J&K Police Wrestling Team won the team championship after securing 20 Medals (09 Gold, 06 Silver and 05 Bronze) in the championship and Jammu district secured 2nd position in the championship. Among the participants few wrestlers who have won gold medals including women in the championship are as under Dushyhant Sharma-SSP, (President J&K Olympic Association & President of J&K Wrestling Association), attended the Closing Ceremony as Chief Guest. During his speech he stated that conducting of this wrestling championship in the rural area of Jammu District will really help the young wrestlers of rural areas of J&K State to participate at State/National level, as most of the wrestlers are belongs to the rural areas of J&K State. He further congratulated to all the medal winners of the championship.
