Alas! Uncompromising State Administration
Escalating temperature in roasting Jammu
Mohd Rafi Malik5/2/2019 11:04:35 PM
It is believed that this summer, the escalating temperature would be hitting not just households but educational institutions, organizations linked, through one or other way, with the education system like Universities and Boards where earlier by the grace of administrative heads the scarcity of drinking Water is certainly being witnessed.
In the peak summer months most of the educational institutions, including State-run schools will be closing for summer vacations but the administrative offices and the examination conducting bodies will be facing the scorching heat waves and sever temperature in the hot zones of the state.
Employees were expecting hypothetically that the working hours of their offices for summer season will be enough minimum and employee friendly and they could discharge their duties in the offices without facing the problem during hot. Though, the orders for working hours have gone viral in social media and the employees broke down and started to think about headstrong government. Some of the employees association momentarily represented their joint resistance for the change of working hours.
Towards punishing and deadly heat wave which will be roasting the employees; working in the Govt. or private sector of Jammu region, the present State administration has shown an unwillingness to make concessions in working hours for the employees as the seated people are themselves entitled to enjoy the cooling systems installed in their offices and chambers.
An unpleasant emotions caused by the threat of upcoming hot weather is still being witnessed among the un-entitled and non-gazetted employees and they still are in the hope that the government will might be changing the working hours. Perhaps it would be all in vein.
At least, to tide over the situation, the government should make the prior arrangements ahead of hot summer season including installation of Air conditioners and drinking water facility which really makes everybody more thirstful when the drinking water would not be available easy. Few among the people arrange by purchasing but some of them could not afford to buy from the market. Because some of the government offices are lacking water facility and common sense might tell us that heat makes people uncomfortable, and uncomfortable people are more likely to be more angry and therefore more violent.
