Indian Navy's P8I, Dornier aircraft to undertake aerial survey to assess impact of Cyclone Fani in Odisha

PURI: Indian Navy on Friday informed that its P8I and Dornier aircraft will undertake an aerial survey to assess the impact after severe cyclonic storm Fani crosses Odisha coast.

''Indian Navy's P-8I and Dornier are being scheduled to be launched in the afternoon for undertaking an aerial survey to assess the extent of impact and devastation after Fani crossing the coast,'' reported news agency ANI.

The Indian Navy has already deployed its ships with relief material and medical teams so that it can launch rescue operation after the cyclone hits the coastline of Odisha.


''The Navy deploys 7 warships (3 warships following the eye of the storm + 4 warships off Tamil Nadu Coast), keeps 6 fixed wing ac + 7 helicopters standby at INS Dega Vizag along with Divers, rubberised craft, medical teams and HADR relief material,'' a tweet from Navy's official Twitter handles said.
