NC-Cong ‘Chief Architects’ of erosion of J&K’s special status: Vakil
5/3/2019 4:42:15 PM

Srinagar, 03 Apr: Continuing its tirade against National Conference and PDP leadership for deceptive politics, Peoples Conference senior vice president Abdul Gani Vakil exclaimed that how can people expect the fulfilment of promises from those leaders who have been making false promises to people for decades together.

Addressing party workers in Naribal, Sutharna and Baman areas of Rafiabad Constituency, Vakil said, “It is strange that Omar Abdullah is making so much noise about the restoration of Sadr-e-Riyasat and Prime Minister Posts while his party is allying with a party which not only denigrated these posts but also is the chief architect of the erosion of Article 370.”.

Vakil said that the National Conference really means business, then they should impress upon Rahul Gandhi to announce the restoration of pre 1953 position.

Since the National Conference and Congress are in alliance, they should get the top Congress leadership to support their demand for the restoration of Prime Minister and Sadr-e-Riyasat posts. Otherwise it is simply a poll gimmick which cannot fetch him any more votes because people understand that he is playing to galleries just to seek their votes.

Vakil said that it was NC’s wrong decisions at critical times has led to death and destruction in Kashmir and the present uncertainty is the outcome of sell-outs by the National Conference leadership to safeguard their family interests.

“Time has come to teach such people a lesson that have lust for the power, so that they no more exploit the gullible people for their vested interests”, he added.

Accusing NC of eroding article 370, Vakil further said, “During decades of NC rule, through 47 amendments the special status of J&K was eroded and now the same party is shedding crocodile tears to appease voters”.

Vakil said that if PC comes to power, they will issue a white paper on constitutional position and erosions made thereafter which will expose NC and bring its real face before public.

Senior party leader Khurshid Ahmad Khan, Javiad Ahmad Masoodi and Youth leader Umar Rashid also spoke on the occasion and termed the NC and PDP as two sides of the same coin. Holding both these parties responsible for the nepotism and deep rooted corruption in state, these leaders asserted that it is NC and PDP which has institutionalized corruption in state and fixed rated for even class forth recruitments.
