Govt Ayurvedic hospital organized free medical camp

JAMMU, May 11: Government Ayurvedic Hospital Jammu organized a free medical camp and awareness programme in collaboration with Bull Riders organization about the nutrition among the children and the general masses. In this camp more than 450 people including children from nearby schools benefitted by the camp suffering from different ailments. Free medicine was distributed.
The programme was organized under the outreach programme of the hospital.
OP Bhagat Director Tourism Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion Bhagat said that tourism and Ayurved can go hand in hand to promote health tourism in Jammu. He said that being the Himalayan state and home of best quality herbs, J&K can become the best destination for people seeking health benefits under eco-friendly conditions. We can adopt new strategy for promotion of health tourism in Jammu.
Dr Taran Singh Medical Superintendent Government Ayurvedic Hospital Jammu asked the students to avoid junk food and unhealthy eating habits. Ayurved stresses upon right diet. He further added Ayurveda places special emphasis on Ahara and believes that healthy nutrition nourishes the mind, body, and soul. Ahara is considered as one of the key pillars (Upasthambha).
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Anil Sharma M.D. appreciated the role of Director Indian systems of Medicine and Homeopathy J&K. He apprised students and their parents about value of nourishment through diet in his lecture on the occasion.
