IPTA organizes multilingual mushaira

Jammu, May 25: A multilingual Mushiara was organized by Indian Peoples Theatre Association (IPTA), Jammu at K L Saigal hall, cultural academy complex, Jammu today in connection with 76th Foundation day celebrations.
Poets of Hindi, Punjabi, Pahari and Gojri recited their poetry. Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages was the chief guest whereas Dr. Baljeet Kaur, HoD Department of Punjabi, University of Jammu was the guest of honour on this occasion.
Khalid Hussain, senior Punjabi short story writer presided over the programme.
The programme was attended by a large number of intellectuals, writers, artists and musicians.
Welcoming the guests Hardeep Singh Deep, President, IPTA, Jammu highlighted the activities of IPTA and its future plans.
In his address, Khalid Hussain appreciated the efforts of IPTA, Jammu for conducting multilingual Mushiara at Jammu. He said that such events help in promoting integration among people belonging to different walks of life and bringing communities closer.
Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn in his address said that the poetry presented by the poets in different languages is the reflection of rich and varied culture of the region of the state.
He also complimented IPTA, Jammu for conducing various cultural events in Jammu and remote areas in this part of J&K.
The poets who recited their poetry included Kamaljeet Choudhary, Manoj Sharma and Kunwar Shakti Singh (Hindi), Amar Sihgn Kuka, Rajpaul Singh Mastana, Jang S. Verman, Harjit Singh Uppal, Balwinder Singh Deep (Punjabi), Swamy Ashok Ambar and Susheel Begana (Dogri) and Antar Nirav and Anwar Khan (Pahari).
The poetry comprised of various genres of poetry forms reflected the ideas, emotions and expressions of the poets on day to day concerns and issues of contemporary socio- political life style.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Swamy Antar Nirav in a befitting manner. Sanjeev Gupta, Secretary IPTA, Jammu extended the vote of thanks.
