All India 15th Gufran Memorial championship inaugurated

Doda, June 11: All India 15th Gufran Memorial Cricket Championship today inaugurated by District Development Commissioner Doda Dr Sagar Doifode in an impressive function at Sports Stadium Doda.
The championship is being organized by Young Star Cricket Club Doda. Among other who were present in the inauguration ceremony included SSP Doda Shabir Malik, ACR Doda Kaiser Bhawani, DySP DAR Mansoor Ayaz, Chairman Municipal Committee Doda Ved Prakash and various other dignitaries.
DDC Doda appreciated the efforts of YSCC for conducting such mega event in the hilly area of Doda valley and term as the best medium to positively channalize the energy of youth and help to provide the platform to the interested youth in sports to show their talent.
Speaking to Early Times Patron YSCC Doda Manzoor Ahmed Batt said, more than 64 teams from different states of india and oit of country included Bangladesh and Nepal will be participated. He said the main aim of this Gufran Memorial Championship is to promote the sports culture among the youth of Chenab valley and give a platform to participate the youth with international, IPL level players and to keep them away from the menace of drugs and other social evils. It is pertinent to mentioned here that, Gufran championship is being played on the format of Indian Premier League (IPL)with the objective to promote sports culture in the state.
The inaugural match was played between Agile Cricket Club Jungalwar, Thathri vs Violent Cricket Club Latti, Udhampur. After winning the toss, Jungalwar, Thathri elected to bat first and set a target 106 runs for the loss of 10 wickets in 18.5 overs. In reply Violent Cricket Club Thathri managed to chase the target in 13 overs and won tye match with 6 wickets.

Ahatsham Malik declared as Man of the Match who scored 53 runs.
The match was officiated by official Umpire from out state Harish Raza and Yousuf Raza.
