| Councilors demand honorarium | | |

Doda, June 15: The elected representatives of municipal committees of Doda district includind MC Doda, Bhaderwah and Thathri have raised their voice against the discrimination in respect of honorarium and other facilities admissible to the elected public representatives. A meeting of the councilors of Doda was held here under the chairmanship of Asif Jan Gattu Councilor W No 12 and former president of MC Doda to discuss their pending demands and grievances. The councilors raised the issue of honorarium and other facilities admissible to the elected representatives of the society and urged the government to fulfill their demands at the earliest possible. A memorandum of demands was also submitted to governor of J&K and the Union government through the Divisional Commissioner Jammu. The councilors alleged that the state government had promised to pay honorarium and provide other facilities to them on the pattern of legislators but no action has been taken in this regard till date. |
