Wreath-laying event of SHO Arshid Khan held

Srinagar, June 17: The wreath-laying event of the Arshad Khan, Station House Officer (SHO), Sadder Police Station, Anantnag who sustained critical injuries in Anantnag militant attack and later succumbed to injuries, held in Srinagar on Monday.

The event held at District Police Line (DPL) Batamloo Srinagar. Besides Jammu and Kashmir's Police chief Dilbagh Singh, Advisor to Governor K Vijay Kumar, Advisor Sharma, Homes Secretary Shaleen Kabra, Divisional Commissioner Baseer Ahmed Khan, ADGP Muneer Khan, and SSP Srinagar DR Haseeb were present on the occasion.
On June 12 2019, around 4:50 pm, five paramilitary troopers and a militant were killed and four other government forces personnel including Khan sustained injuries after militants attacked a joint party of CRPF and police at bus stand Anantnag.

Khan was immediately evacuated to a nearby hospital and then Srinagar. After being treated at Srinagar's SKIMS hospital for a few days, he was flown to New Delhi's AIIMS hospital where he succumbed to injuries.
The attack was later condemned by the top politicians of Jammu and Kashmir including J&K Governor Satya Pal Malik.
According to police, Khan was inducted into police services in the year 2002 and was presently posted as SHO Anantnag. Khan is survived by father and mother, wife Neelofar, 5-year-old son Abuhan Khan, Danim 2, and a brother.
