Early Times Report

Jammu, June 17: Editor of Early Times Munish Gupta, who has decided to contest as an independent candidate from Gandhi Nagar constituency and has launched door to door campaign, has unnerved the party, as former legislator Kavinder Gupta, who remained in slumber for three years, is now in a working mode.
During tenure of the BJP-PDP coalition government, Kavinder, the legislator of Gandhi Nagar constituency remained busy in works other than concerning development of various wards of the constituency or providing basic amenities. Now, after Munish Gupta started his campaign and vociferously raised several issues, the former legislator has started visiting the wards in which he remained absent for three years.
Day in and day out the former legislator has been trying to project himself as someone deeply concerned about the area. "It is shocking how a former legislator can inaugurate developmental works during the Governor's rule. The MLAs cease to exist once the assembly is dissolved by the Governor. But it is surprising to find that the ex-legislators of BJP have been inaugurating works as well as passing the directions to the officials of various government to do works", a politician said, asking "in what capacity the former legislators have been inaugurating the works and in what capacity the plaint and sycophant government officials have been accepting the dictates of former legislators?"
The Governor's administration "must issue directions to these former legislators not to misuse the government machinery for their vested interests as they were no more legislators."
