AoI alleges departmental harassment of micro-small units, seeks Guv's intervention
6/19/2019 10:45:34 PM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, June 19: Alleging that local Micro/Small units are being tortured due to unsympathetic and unrelenting attitude of the state authorities, the Association of Industries (AoI) Gangyal, Jammu said that the those at the helm of affairs have failed to suitably resolve the genuine grievances of the local units.
In a statement issued here today, the AoI president, Rattan Dogra said that the Industries and Commerce (I&C) Department in order to hide its failure to seek the restoration of the competitive edge through State Fiscal Package is continuing the threats of Retrieval of land under the possession for more than four decades of local Micro/Small units. Such ill-conceived moves have borne out of I&C Department's failure to identify and develop fresh/new infrastructure for rapid industrialization.
Ironically, there is no set of fiscal incentives either for existing and/or ensuing units. Due to lack of developed infrastructure no worthwhile investment is expected and such move is specifically aimed at diverting the attention from the ill-conceived Industrial policy of 2016 as well as 2017 Industrial policy guidelines, said Dogra.
Association of Industries on numerous occasions sought attention of government towards the anomaly that instead of projecting the grievances of local Micro/Small units and seek favourable redressals thereof, the I&C Department advocates and thrusts the view point of other departments upon the local Micro/Small units totally against the concept of 'Ease of doing business, he added.
AOI once again invites the attention of Governor for his personal attention to urgently listen to the woes of the local Micro/Small sector and take proper remedial measures to save the jobs of the already employed besides their self-employed entrepreneurs and remove the chaos prevalent in various state government departments, Dogra said.
