Early Times Report
rajouri, July 6: The power theft in Sunderbani city has been increasing with alleged active connivance with concerned Junior Engineer and Assistant Executive Engineer Power Development Department Sunderbani of district Rajouri, as the load has increased to double in comparison from last year.
Sources told Early Times that the power crisis in rural areas of tehsil Sunderbani has enormously worsened. Department has been carrying out huge curtailment of power on daily basis in rural areas to keep supply in city without interruption. Locals alleged that JE and AEE are hand in glove in power theft nexus. "Illegal Air Conditioners are running in shops in the Sunderbani city due to which load has increased. The city had load of 200 Ampere Watt in 2017-18, now in 2018-19 the load has reached to 420 AW, which make it clear that consumption of power has increased in city," they alleged.
They further said that as far as the revenue from rent is concerned, the PDD is getting revenue of 200 AW while the consumption is of 420 AW which clearly exhibit that huge power theft is going on in Sunderbani city. "Few weeks ago, the PDD had sent a team for carrying out inspection but the concerned JE and AEE didn't the inspection held in Sunberbani city as they allegedly take corruption from shops for its illegal use and sent them back by saying that everything is right in city," they said.
The locals appealed Governor SP Malik that the inspection of entire city should be held and strict action should be taken against the erring PDD officials who are allowing power theft for their personal benefit.
