7/8/2019 1:58:01 PM
Srinagar: An Army jawan was left injured on Monday after a blast took place close to the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir. The jawan was on his routine patrolling duty when the incident took place. The incident happened near the Pimple Post along the LoC in north Kashmir. He has been rushed to a nearby Army Hospital for advanced treatment. The authorities are trying to ascertain whether it was a landmine or some kind of IED that led to the incident.

Earlier on Saturday, two Army personnel were injured in Pakistani firing along the LoC in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. The personnel were manning a forward post in the Romali Dhara area of Nowshera sector when the firing from across the border broke out.

According to a defence spokesperson, Pakistani soldiers started the ceasefire violation by firing from small arms which was followed by mortar shelling.

The Indian Army retaliated to Pakistani attack in which two Indian soldiers were left injured. However, the casualties suffered by the Pakistani troops could not be confirmed.

The injured Army jawans were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital and are undergoing treatment.
