| JMC corporators highlight their issues | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, July 8: Independent/Congress Party Corporators raised the problems being faced by Corporators of Jammu Municipal Corporation. The election of Jammu Municipal Corporation was concluded on 20th October 2018 with the declaration of results. It was welcome step by the state administration because previous election was held during 2005. The people had high hopes towards the Corporators.
The people of all the wards were facing problems of insanitation conditions because of less strength safaikarmchari and lack of supervision. After election the people hoped that sanitary conditions will be improved, developmental works will speed up. The people hoped that huge amount of funds blocked by Central Govt. will be released soon and developmental works will be started in all the wards. After lapse of more than eight months each Corporators was able to start works upto 10 lacs only during stage 1st works.
The people have started losing faith in Corporators. The sanitary conditions could not be improved to satisfactory level inspite of best efforts by the Corporators.
The population of each ward has increased but the strength of safaikar-amchari has decreased because some of them have retired and some has expired. |
