Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 9: Pradesh Youth Congress, J&K, on Tuesday took out a Loktantra Bachao March to make people aware about the failure of BJP in fullfiling their promises made with the people of Jammu region.
Led by Uday Bhanu Chib, the activists assembled outside the BJP Headquarters Trikuta Nagar and raised slogans against BJP.
Talking to reporters, Chib said BJP have ditched the mandate of Jammu region and surrendered the aspirations of people who voted whole heartedly for seeking justice and equality in the State. He said that BJP has befooling the people of J&K on the name of various issues including delimitation, abrogation of Article 370, etc. He said BJP has made wrong commitments with people for carrying out a delimitation exercise for Jammu region in the State Assembly. He asked BJP to fulfill its commitment by holding delimitation of Assembly Constituencies before holding Assembly elections.
Chib said Modi and BJP need to be aware that the coalition government in Karnataka, which has "complete majority" is sought to be pulled down by a spate of defections and resignations. "The MLAs are being bought in broad day-light, democracy is being denigrated in broad daylight. The constitution is being trampled upon in broad daylight in Karnataka," he alleged.
Chib emphasized that Congress will not allow BJP for such type of horse trading and will always stand to save the democracy of our country . "We want to tell BJP that no effort of yours will ever succeed in denigrating India's democracy. Constitution and democracy are above you," Chib asserted.
