7/12/2019 9:23:17 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, July 12: A meeting was held under the presidentship of Choudhary Manmohan Singh, president AIJMS J&K at Dayala Chak Tehsil Hiranagar. In this meeting issues concerning Jat community were discussed wherein a large number of residents of Dayalachak participated in huge numbers.
Speaking on the occasion, Manmohan Singh thanked Governor for sanctioning the reservation for residents living within 6 kms of border area. These people, irrespective of their biradari but based on their residential status within the 6 km of border will get 3% reservation. These people are not just Jats but of other biradaris too. He urged their biradari heads to come forward and thank Governor for coming true to his promise. This reservation is a huge victory on the part of Jat Biradari for their survival.
Manmohan said to the people present that this reservation won't be of any use to them unless they encourage their children to study and go for jobs. The youth of our biradari is not that inclined towards education but this responsibility falls on their parents to focus on their education and make it their priority. It was on us to get reservation but it is our youth's responsibility to attain education and use this reservation's benefit.
Manmohan Singh said that they will formally request Governor to look into the remaining biradari issues of one time settlement and ownership rights and get them resolved accordingly. Especially, our long pending demand of ownership rights of custodian lands.
The government needs to issue orders to implement this Court decision or they will be forgotten just like their other files.
