5 day plantation drive concludes

Doda, July 16: 07 Bn SSB Batote, which is represented by Ajay Kumar, Commandant had started a drive for plantation to celebrate the onset of monsoons on 12.07.2019 at Khellani Nalla area to cover the patches in forest land. This plantation programme closed on 16 July 2019 and approximately 1950 different kind of plants planted from Jathi to Khellani Nalla during this period of 05 days. On the closing ceremony of program, around 80 students of GHS School Khellani, 15 personnel of Forest division Khellani and Local area Pardhans & youths also participated and contributed for the same with SSB personnel.
A total of 50 SSB Jawans headed by Ajay Kumar, Commandant 07 battalion SSB Batote along with Jagdish Ram Bhat, Assistant Commandant and students & teachers of GHS School Khellani, personnel of Forest division Khellani and Local area Pardhans & youths launched a special plantation drive in empty area around Khellani nala in Doda district and planted approx 320 different kind of plants on the occasion.
On the closing of program, Sh. Ajay kumar, Commandant said that such plantation program will also be conducted in future from Batote to Gandoh area. He said that during his visit to these places on various occasions, he saw many patches unplanted road side resulting no any protection for vehicles met accident. Also this road side plantation will not only protect the vehicles from serious accidents but also add to neat & clean and healthy environment.
Local public present on the occasion also appreciated these efforts of SSB and added that they will also cooperate with SSB if such program planned in future for protection and to conserve the environment.
