Srinagar, July 16: Jammu and Kashmir High Court on Tuesday directed state's finance department regarding the status of funds allotted by the finance department to the JKPCC regarding the construction of bridges in the Kashmir province.
As the hearing of the Public interest Litigation filed by Samaj Sudhar Committee begun before a division bench of the court, senior additional advocate general Javed iqbal sought time about the status of funds allotted by the finance department to the JKPCC regarding the construction of bridges in the Kashmir province.
The JKPCC had on the last date taken a stand that despite requests and imperative need for the funds, the same have not been released by the finance department resulting into unwarranted delay in completion of these projects. "The JKPCC shall ensure that copy of the affidavit is furnished to Mr.javed Iqbal Sr. AAG during the course of the day".
The court also directed official respondents file the status report before the next of hearing regarding construction of fly overs as directed on last date of hearing. The court ordered listing of the PIL for further consideration on August 14
In March this year, M. A. Chashoo, AAG, had submitted that in so far as the flyovers are concerned, a status report has been filed in terms of the directions on 26 November last year.
