RAMBAN, July 20: District Magistrate, Ramban, Showkat Aijaz Bhat, constituted a District Level Content Monitoring Committee to monitor violation of programmes and Advertisement Codes under the Cable Television Network (Regulation) Act, 1995 by Private Satellite Television Channels and AIR Broad Cast Code by private FM channels and Community Radio Stations.
The committee headed by DM Ramban was comprised of members including District (Senior) Superintendent of Police, Principal Government Degree College, Ramban, Chairman Nation First Trust, Neeraj Singh Chib, Social Worker from QRT, Ramban, Bashir Ahmed Magray, Academician, Mohammad Iqbal Khan and Media Person, Mohammed Taskeen Wani. Besides, District Information Officer has been nominated as Nodal Officer and Member Secretary of the Committee. Pertinent to mention here that the role of District Level Committee is to provide a forum where the public may lodge a complaint regarding content aired over any television distribution platform Cable, DTH, HITS, IPTV, Private FM Channels and Community Radio Stations operating in the district and take action on the same as per prescribed procedure. |
