Now, PDP's north Kashmir leaders peeved at party
ET report vindicated again

Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 20: Senior PDP leader Nizam-ud-Din Bhat came out with a statement on Saturday, vindicating an Early Times report that brought to fore the widening wedge between him and his party.
Bhat, a veteran PDP leader who quit journalism back in 2005 to join PDP, said that the party was facing challenges and it was the primary responsibility of the party top brass to ensure that the party is not allowed to be disarrayed. "People's Democratic Party is faced with challenges. I wish that it sails through the difficult time and emerges stronger than before. It is primary responsibility of party patron and the president to ensure that the party is not allowed to be disarrayed for whatever reason," Bhat said in the statement.
Early Times in its July 20 edition had in a detail report highlighted how a rebellion is now hitting PDP's block with several top leaders waiting in wings to leave it once and for all.
Meanwhile, as per the reports, PDP patron Muzaffar Hussain Beigh is weighing options to leave the PDP and join some other political platform. He and his wife Safina Beigh didn't attend party's recently held north Kashmir centric meeting.
Earlier, this year, there were speculations earlier rife that Beigh, who has been one of the founding members of the PDP, will join PC and announce its departure from PDP in which he spent around 19 years.
Beigh last year in December last year had said that he was sidelined even when PDP and BJP stitched a common ground after the 2014 polls threw a fragmented mandate in the state.
After around three months of deliberations, PDP formed alliance with the BJP and signed the Agenda of Alliance that both the parties termed as a 'guiding principle' of running a coalition government in the state. "I was completely sidelined. On December 28, 2014, Mufti sahib in the presence of Mehbooba Ji had told me to get a document prepared for my preliminary negotiations with BJP. On January 1, 2015,I was told by Mehbooba Ji that I should stay back and some other person had been chosen to speak to BJP. I don't know why they did so, but yes, I was sidelined, therefore I don't have any knowledge about the terms and conditions of the engagement with BJP," Beigh was quoted as having said in an interview.
Castigating the party's approach over burying its self-rule document for Kashmir issue resolution, Beigh had said that the document would now look obsolete. "PDP's self rule now looked like an obsolete document as the idea was never going to be possible unless Hurriyat and Pakistan accepted it," Beigh said.
If Beigh leaves the party, says a PDP leader, it will instigate another rebel within its ranks and will create a storm that will be difficult to tame and tackle.
Meanwhile, the pacification measures have, as per the sources, failed to yield the desired results.
