Three day training programme concludes

Jammu, July 20: A three days' training programme on city disaster management plan was organized by J&K IMPARD, Jammu under the course coordinator ship of Manju Kapoor Assistant Professor, J&K IMPARD, Jammu. The programme started on 17th July, 2019 and concluded on 19th July, 2019. At the valediction of the training programme Prof. Reva Sharma, Director Trainings, IMPARD, Jammu laid stress on need for Disaster Management and updating knowledge skill and attitude for rescue from Disasters. Director Trainings IMPARD, Jammu focused on need for Disaster Management and various remedial measures to be undertaken during Disasters. She focused on implementation of City Disaster Management Plan and role of various stake holders in implementation of City Disaster Management Plan. The course coordinator Manju Kapoor briefed Director Trainings about the training programme. The programme was attended by officers from various government departments including Education, UEED, Irrigation and Flood Control Department, Jammu Municipal Corporation and NGOs. The main focus was on City Disaster Management Plan and its implementation and role of Civil Defence and SDRF in Disaster Management. Various sessions were organized by J&K IMPARD, Jammu including overview about disaster management by Mr. Sanjeev Arora, City Disaster Management Plan by ADC, Dr. Tahir Firdous, Role of Red Cross during Disasters by Anil Padha, Earthquake and its Mitigation and need for First Aid by Alok Nanda, Expert Disaster Management Jammu and Role of SDFR and Civil Defence by Inspector Ankeshwar Nath and Deputy Controller Ms. Naseem Akhtar and team were organized by IMPARD, Jammu.
