KPC welcomes abrogation of Article 370
8/6/2019 9:18:27 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 6: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) welcomed the bold and historical decision of Modi Govt. to abrogate the article 370 from the state of J&K which was long pending demand of nationalist forces including Kashmiri Pandits and in particular of KPC and other organisations and congratulated to Modi and Amit Shah for abrogating the said Article and expressed its gratitude on behalf of the whole community.
However, Kundan Kashmiri, President KPC termed it a half way decision of the Modi Govt. by only declaring Ladakh and J&K as union territories, ignoring the KP,s genuine demand of separate Kashyap Bhoomi with writ of Indian constitution in the valley for the victim KP community for which they have been struggling from the last thirty years in exile and were hopeful that Modi Govt. would accede this demand in view of ethnic cleansing, forced exodus and negation of their co--existence in the valley by the majority community of Muslim population in the valley.
The abrogation of article 370 is no doubt a game changer, but not carving out a separate Kashyap Bhoomi for KP,s is a blunder which has demoralized the KP,s. Kundan Kashmiri, President KPC while expressing dismay for ignoring KP,s genuine demand ,strongly demanded for carving out separate Kashyap Bhoomi for the Kashmiri Pandits at the earliest as possible, so that KP,s as community will live together to save their culture and serve the nation. In this regard a memorandum is being sent to PM and Home Minister of India at the earliest.
