Early Times Report

Jammu, Aug 6: In the wake of abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir and state's bifurcation into two Union territories, restrictions remain in force in this winter capital of the state for the second consecutive day on Tuesday, while all government and private schools also remained shut, amid imposition of Section 144 of CrPC.
"All private and government schools will remain closed on Tuesday as a preventive measure till further directives," said orders issued by the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) of different districts including Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Poonch, Doda, Rajouri, Udhampur.
Jammu DC Sushma Chauhan also said that section 144 of CrPC has been imposed in Jammu district till further orders and schools and colleges will remain closed in view of restrictions.
As many as 40 companies of CRPF have also been deployed in all districts of Jammu region, said an official. In Jammu, six companies of CRPF have been deployed, two each in Samba and Kathua, four in Udhampur, one in Reasi, eight in Rajouri, six in Poonch and 11 in Doda. Army has also been deployed in various parts of the district. "Mobile Internet has also been snapped in the region, while restrictions are imposed as precautionary measure," they added. Moreover, all examinations of different schools and University of Jammu have also been postponed till further orders and fresh dates will be announced later, said an order. The Central government on Monday revoked Article 370 which accords special status to Jammu and Kashmir, and proposed the bifurcation of the state into two union territories, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh, a bold and far-reaching decision that seeks to redraw the map and future of a region at the centre of a protracted militancy movement.
