Eid-Ul-Azha arrangements discussed at Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, Aug 6: In order to finalize the necessary arrangements in connection with ensuing Eid-ul-Azha, a meeting of District Officers and prominent citizens of the district was held today under the Chairmanship of Additional District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Ashok Kumar at Conference Hall DC Office Complex here today.
Detailed discussion were held on Various arrangements regarding the celebration of Eid-ul-Azha especially the availability of water supply at the designated places, uninterrupted power supply, adequate supply of ration, quality and rates checking of eatables, security arrangements and proper sanitation during the celebration were discussed in detail.
During the meeting, the ADDC directed the concerned departments to ensure the availability of water supply, uninterrupted power supply, security arrangements and proper cleanliness in and around the various Eid-Gahs and Masjids in the district.
Sheep Animal Husbandry Officer was directed to ensure sufficient availability of meat at affordable rates during the festival. Municipality was directed to ensure proper sanitation arrangements in the towns and at the Eid-Gahs.
AD CAPD along with the Food Safety Officer and Legal Metrology Department were directed to keep a check on the rates of essential commodities and were also asked to ensure that good quality of eatables was provided to the people.
Regarding the security arrangements, the ADDC asked the concerned authorities to deploy police at designated places in the town. Traffic department was directed to deploy adequate number of traffic personnel at traffic jam prone places.
