Jammu, Aug 14: J&K Governor Satya Pal Malik took a dig at Rahul Gandhi and said the Congress leader took four days to respond on the Kashmir issue.
Hours after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi asked when he could visit Kashmir Valley with no strings attached, Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik said the entire state administration is pre-occupied with making arrangements for the celebration of Independence Day.
Earlier on Wednesday, Rahul Gandhi had tweeted: "Dear Maalik ji, I saw your feeble reply to my tweet. I accept your invitation to visit Jammu & Kashmir and meet the people, with no conditions attached. When can I come?"
Replying to Rahul Gandhi's request to confirm the date of his visit to the Valley, the Jammu and Kashmir Governor said that he had already referred the matter to the local police and administration for further examination.
The J&K Governor also took a dig at Rahul Gandhi and said the Congress leader took four days to respond on the Kashmir issue which "already stands clarified and settled by various Indian news channels which have reported the correct position".
"Rahul Gandhi has taken four days to respond on an issue, which already stands clarified and settled by various Indian news channels which have reported the correct position. At present, the entire state administration is pre-occupied with making arrangements for the celebration of Independence Day," a statement by Jammu and Kashmir Governor said.
"The Governor has already referred the matter to the local administration which will get in touch with the MP at a convenient time."
It also stated that Satya Pal Malik has "no further statement to make on this issue".
